The story of
Sofia Kosmica
I always had an interest in the unknown and the energy world, without questioning it — it just felt normal. As I grew older, I studied Science and Engineering and worked in research and science for many years. The logical side of my job was never a reason to stop believing in the unseen and what is not yet known to us.
My kosmos (cosmos) was a blend of science and the known plus energy and the unknown. Both made absolute sense to me and happily always coexisted in my life. In the Greek language kosmos means world and sofia means wisdom. This name resonates with everything that is for me and it represents Sofia’s world, my world.
Reiki and sound opened a whole new world to me, helped me to work on my wounds and connect to my deeper self. It’s an ongoing and interesting journey that brings me back to my real self day by day.
Reiki
I trained in reiki across three countries – Nepal, India and Greece – studying Level I in each with different teachers and traditions: Holy Fire Reiki, followed by Usui Reiki Ryoho. I went on to complete Level 2 in Greece. Each teacher had their own unique style and shared valuable lessons and knowledge with me but the biggest teacher so far has been my personal daily practice and Reiki itself.
When I was little, I used to imagine I had an energy ball between my palms, moving it around, feeling the energy change, expand or shrink. Little did I know that many years later I would practice exactly the same thing during my Reiki I training.
Sound Healing
My introduction to sound healing took place a few years back when I attended a group sound bath in the UK. The experience was mesmerizing and deeply relaxing, helping me to fall into a deep meditative state.
I bought my first sound bowl for personal use a year later and kept attending sessions. A few years later, I trained in Tibetan singing bowl therapy in Kathmandu, Nepal, with Master Shree Krishna Shahi, a third-generation sound healer. From there, I continued learning in India with different teachers, and practiced for a short period in a space in Rishikesh with friends.
Earlier in 2026, I spent a few weeks learning from Jochen Fassbender, an incredible artist and sound instrument creator in Germany. It was brief, barely scratced the surface of tuning, but his passion was contagious, and he taught me that silence is just as important as sound, if not more so. Modern society doesn’t teach us to appreciate and stay with silence, so this lesson was valuable.
